While this is not the best hotel I've stayed in it does meet my needs. The hotel is a little older than some and non-smoking rooms have been converted from smoking rooms, the smoke smell still lingers. The AC unit was noisy and the toilet flushing needed attention. The staff is very nice and does their best to correct problems. The free breakfast is very adequate, there is a nice variety of bagels, cereals, breads, juice etc. You can even have hot waffles is you choose. I believe it is the best for the money in that area. I've stayed at one of the lower priced hotels and it was much worse.

The hotel and room was fine given the price that I paid. The room was clean and quiet, and the hotel is close to two metro stations. The only problem was that the hotel claimed to offer free wireless Internet, but it did not work even in the front lobby. There is one public computer for the entire hotel, and the printer for this computer also did not work. Overall the hotel is great if you want to save money; just be sure to look for nearby cafes with Internet access if you need it.

Hotel appears to be like all other comnfort suites. You have acertain level of expectations. Unfortunately, this hotel brings th echain down. The floor was not vacummed during our entire stay. Thelucky charms in the hallway where still ther 4 days later when we checked out. Convient shuttle (only if the shuttle driver works during your stay) I had to listen to the long excuse that why they have a shuttle it does not run every day. reserved a Suite with sofa bed. No blankets, sheets or pillows fo rthe sofa bed. Really helpful. Location is diffcult ot get into and out of based on where the parking lot is on US 1 and the lights nearby. NON SMOKING ROOM with cigarette burns on the bed covers and reeked of cigarette smoke.

I love this hotel. Can't complain.

We asked for two non-smoking rooms. One was very good, the other smelt of smoke - probably some inconderate guest, but I expected the hotel to have cleaned it up properly so the smell was not there. It was a bit too late for a different room so can not say what management would have done. The continental breakfast was good. Hotel looked clean, newly renovated.

Hotel is in convenient location and was relatively clean. Check room - our first one had ants. Bathrooms could stand a little maintenance. Staff was friendly and helpful. Overall it was a pleasant stay and was good for the price paid. Will stay again unless price jumps significantly.

My husband and I went to visit DC and were wanting a hotel that was resonable and clean and were pleasently surprised at how nice the hotel was. It was very clean and the people there were very helpful. we called in pizza and the front desk told us what place was her favorite instead of just given us anything. The breakfast wasn't as nice as others but we were very pleased and it was very close to the metro and must important we felt as though we were in a safe area.

This was my 2nd stay. Rooms have been exceptionally clean and comfy both times. Staff is professional and courteous. ONE ISSUE DURING 2ND STAY: I was awakened from a sound sleep at about midnight by the front desk, calling to say the room below mine was complaining about noise. When I asked about this at checkout, the desk agent told me they had simply called all the rooms in the vicinity of the complaining room. They apologized for the inconvenience. I'd have rather had them investigate the cause of the noise and deal with it. Otherwise, another very comfortable stay.

Hotel was not terribly clean, breakfast was fair to poor. The staff made up for it with a great knowledge of area, restaurants, and friendly manner. Great front desk staff.

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful. They gave us a free upgrade from a room with two doubles to a room with a king-size bed. Small burn in the bedspread, but otherwise totally clean and fine (and did not smell of smoke or anything else). Also, they give you a ride to the metro upon request, but it might be a bit inconvenient for when you are coming back at the end of the day. Now a couple of caveats: the hotel faces the parking lot and highway on the front, so if you prefer less noise (or a prettier view) you may wish to request a room at the rear. Also, the complimentary breakfast is adequate, but served in a small room that can feel cramped if someone is monopolizing the space/toaster/waffle-maker. If you want to eat the breakfast, consider arriving on the earlier side.

Hotel was great except for the main reason to be there. The beds were the worse I ever slept in.

The hotel location provides easy access to the Metro - two green Metro stations with ample parking at each are nearby - Green Belt and College Park. The room size and price were fine, and the wireless internet service worked flawlessly. The bathroom light switch was outside the bathroom, and on the hinge side as well - very odd. The breakfast buffet was crowded, but offered some variety - the waffles were very popular. However 3 evenings out of 5 there were uniformed police in the lobby. One morning we were met by 8-10 state and local police on foot in pursuit of a suspect.

This is a fine place to stay, not a new hotel but still nice

It was a great room for the money. However, there was ants in the bathroom, LOTS of ants. The bed was made everyday. The hotel had good service. The internet was slow and didn't work for your mail. There was lots of people using the one computer and it was slow. They didn't clean the floor but they did take out the trash! For the free breakfeast, free parking, it was awesome and very great!! Thank you.

Great location, very fair price and clean room. The staff was very helpful and the cont breakfast was adequate. We enjoyed our stay there very much and plan to return when we visit our daughter in the future. The hotel does not have frills but it is clean and very safe.

We stayed two nights and would definitely recommend the hotel to travelers who are looking for good value when visiting DC. Although the shuttle was not running one day, the hotel manager reimbursed the cost of the taxi ride to the metro. It's a 5 min. ride to metro and about 1/2 hour to the mall.

Decent, clean hotel. The continental breakfast was decent, but very crowded. I wouldn't necessarily suggest the hotel for families b/c it's right by the side of a highway and a huge university. It is also about 10-15 minutes from DC. On the plus side, there are a lot of nice bike trails a few feet from the front door. The truly initiated will be able to bike to the Mall in DC.

We stayed at the hotel because of its proximity to the University of Maryland. It was very convenient and was basically what you would expect from a hotel of this caliber. We discovered the remote for the TV was broken but it was late and so we didn't even bother to report it. The only other issue is that it was a little noisy especially since our room was on the side of the hotel near the road. Also, the garbage trucks emptying the hotels dumpsters at 4:30am was annoying. That being said, we would consider staying there again if we were in the area and would request a room in the back of the hotel.

My overall evaluation of the hotel is that it is a great place to stay, especially if you need to be close to the University of Maryland. What makes this hotel fantastic is that they operate a shuttle that runs to the University of Maryland as well as to the Metro.

This hotel is no frills, clean, comfortable place that has wireless internet, a TV, comfortable bed and great location to U of Maryland. If you want lots of service and great restaurant, don't go here. If you just want a place to sleep that's clean and comfortable, it's fine. Price is right too.

Just right as a base for going into DC on the Metro. The hotel bus is available for transportation to & from College Park Metro station until 4:30pm upon request -but that info was not volunteered until we asked on day 2 of our stay! Information about the bus routes serving the Metro depends on the knowledge of the front desk person. We learned that buses 83 & 86 from the Metro station stop at the Clarion, just down the street from the hotel. The direction of the buses are Northbound -Carollton (86) and Cherry Hill(83)!

Clean, comfortable, affordable ... a bit traffic-busy outside given the shadow of a major university, but inside was a restful haven.

If your hot buttons are College Park, Budget, Convenience, Cleanliness, Comfort, Safety, and a Satisfying Continental Breakfast ... book early through hotels.com for 5 nights at Comfort Inn at half price. If you're really picky, be aware that the elevator is not sparkling, the chairs in the rooms are a little worn, and the wifi isn't very strong. Notable is the attention to detail by the cleaning staff, cheerful attitude of the desk clerks who speak fluent English, and the space for a laptop and printer in the room, along with a refrigerator for late night refreshments. I've stayed at every modest priced hotel within 5 miles of the National Archives. Most have serious issues. Some are down-right scary. This hotel is a pleasant upgrade at similar pricing with hotels.com half-price sale. As long as it is offered, I will not change from my new "Home away from Home" Comfort Inn is a Winner!

Being that this hotel is situated in College Park, it has been a bit abused by student use. Our shower and T.V. remote were broken, but the staff was very helpful and prompt in correcting these problems. The staff is very good. The continental breakfast left something to be desired even by continental breakfast standards. The train station was close, but still too far away to walk to. We had to pay to park there which was not expected.

This hotel was near The Mall, which had a Target, Burlington Coat Factory, and a Value City. Restaurants were right out in front of the Mall. Near the interstate. Kept the hotel clean. Breakfast was great. Would stay there again.

Perfect location in College Park for my needs. Hotel was clean, comfortable and staff was friendly. Continental bkfst was adequate, wireless internet service worked. I will stay there next trip.

We loved the bed, pillows, view, and people. The only suggestions we would make is to bring your own shampoo and conditioner - their shampoo is lame and they don't supply conditioner.

I booked this hotel as a cheaper alternative for a downtown hotel for a visit to Washington, DC. It's minutes from a Green line metro station, which has stops located pretty close to the monuments, Smithsonian, etc. The area wasn't too pretty, located on a busy highway, but there were lots of places to eat, pick up things you need or get gas. My only complaint was that during rush hour, its nearly impossible to make a left turn into the parking lot. I got a room with a king and it was very spacious and clean. It even had a mini fridge, which would have been great if I had known about in advance, to bring drinks and snacks.

The room could have been a little nicer, but everything was functional and the hotel staff did an excellent job of cleaning every day. Over all, it was not elegant, but nice ---I would go again.
