Tryp Muenchen - Monachium

Went to this hotel for oktoberfest and it could not have been a better location. Just a couple of minutes walk and you were in the middle of the fest! Also close to the train station. The best thing though was that the staff was so helpful! They could not have done a better job and went out of their way to help you! Next year I am going back so i will definately stay here again!!

The room was so sparse! One chair, no table. No coffee in the room. Downstairs, the hotel charged us about $3US for a 6 oz cup of coffee. No internet in the room, had to use the computer in the lobby, 3 euros for 30 minutes. It was close to the train station, rental car agencies and the taxis and the Marienplatz, which was a real plus. For the money, we'd look for a different hotel with a few amenities.

The location of this hotel is absolutely fabulous. It is 3 blocks from the main train station and half a block from a local stop. The room was clean but a bit small. It would have been nice if there was free wifi, as now most hotels give this, but the staff were nice and helpful. Good place for the money.

This hotel was fairly close to the main railway station which is what we wanted. It was no-frills, but quite clean and comfortable. It had AC but as with most European hotels does not blow real cold and it was unusually hot when we were there. Overall quite satisfied for the money.

The price I paid for the room was well worth the quality I received, but if I wanted breakfast I had to pay quite a bit more for it. I thought the breakfast was overpriced, because I've had the same kind of breakfast in other hotels for much less, but then it is optional. The location is convenient to the train station, only about three blocks and an easy walk even with luggage. There is also a U Bahn stop a block away. The neighborhood seems to be filled with Turkish shops and restaurants, so cheap, good food is nearby. Nancy

We had a corner room which enjoyed the traffic (cars and people) from two roads. The room was consequently extremley noisy. It was also overcrowded with cheap furniture, dark and dingy and generally not a happy place to be.

Rock bottom price and excellent service. The room was by the main street which was loud at times but not a major issue. Only concern would be lack of air conditioning in the summer. Overall a great value hotel for Munich. Staff was warm, welcoming, and very helpful.

Hotel rooms are comfortable but basic. Location good for main station, and as long as you can do a 10 minute walk or happy to get underground, location is good. If you want tea & coffee, book a comfort room. We did not have breakfast here as was expensive. Bar very small and in main reception to the side - a bit odd feeling. Also, they tried to close it on us when it states it is 24 hours...! Staff not over friendly but professional. If you want to feel special, don't choose here, but if you just want a base for Munich sightseeing then it is perfect for that.

This was one of the nicest hotels we stayed in during our month long trip to Europe. A little out of the way from the sights, but very convenient to the train stations. Room was super comfy, pretty large for European hotel, with a full size bath (which was a huge deal for us). Would stay there again!!

Hotel is in a great location, at a waling distance form the central railway station and just few minutes from metro station. Internet at the hotel is expensive, bust if you walk just couple of minutes internet booths are available for a price of 1 euro for one hour.

A nice hotel.. convenient to rail station and Marianplatz! Our "comfort room" was clean, spacious, quiet. We had a great courtyard view! The hotel provided a bottle of water each day plus an impressive quantity of health and beauty aid amenities in the bathroom. One primary complaint... the burned out shower light was not replaced, even after we filled out requested written request and spoke personally with maintenance staff. We'd go back!

Hotel internet and printing was unreliable and expensive. On the 3 occasions that we had problems with then internet, the hotel staff did not make any effort to help us. The room was old and felt dirty. The hotel was located in a bad area but was close to the train station. Breakfast was expensive and I would not stay there again. However, price was low so some of the problems maybe should have been expensive.

I would not recommend this hotel. It was clean enough, if this was the only hotel available it would not be a disaster, but I don't recommend it. I booked a non-smoking room and got a smoking room that reeked. The building is older with some cracks and things. Not a great neighborhood but I wasn't really nervous about it like some other reviewers. The shower curtain didn't work at ALL so our bathroom was SOAKED after a shower. Only plus would be it is right by the Oktoberfest fields.

We stayed one night at the Tryp Muenchen hotel. We found it to be clean and comfortable. The staff were helpful and had very good English. While I wouldn't say it has a "central" location, it was in easy walking distance of the train station and Marian Platz.

Overall this was a great value. The location was a bit far from the city center (about a 20 min walk to Marienplatz), but other than that no complaints. The showers had the best water pressure I've had anywhere in Europe.

Upon arrival, at this so called 4 star hotel the front desk staff seemed uninterested in helping. When I got to my room, I had been given a pull out couch. I went to the front desk and said I wanted a proper bed, they looked me up and down and gave me a key to a second room, a smokers room that stank of smoke. After a lot of stomping my feet, they finally gave me a non smoking room with a real bed (which is what I had booked and was on my conformation sheet). They told me because they had upgraded my room (which was exactly they same as the other two except for the bed and lack of smoke) I was not allowed to have any breakfast. The bathroom had mold around the bath and large patches of rust around the faucets. The only good thing about the hotel was the location. the area was not great but was in walking distance to everything. I had stayed in 3 other hotels in the 2 week trip i took and it was without a doubt the worst. Maybe a 2 star hotel.

Excellent choice and value. 1 block from U-Bahn #4 and #6 station. About 4 easy blocks from South exit of main train station. Very nice modern room appointments and desk staff were very accomodating. I recommend you get day passes (TagesKarte) for your local travel to and from sites.

We stayed for 4 nights and found the hotel easy to find only a short walk from the mainline station. Our rooms were comfortable although rooms on main road side were a little noisy from traffic on the Saturday night. The breasfast was excellent with good hot and cold food and plenty to choice from the buffet. We would defineatly stay here again.

Very good hotel, firendly staff, well located for most things in Munich. Would recommend for anyone wanting to avoid a soulless chain hotel.

very good standard clean hotel, close to city centre. One gripe would be that the pillow is extremely flat and square which personally was uncomfortable... otherwise value for money.

The Tryp was a very nice place to stay. It was even better that it was 2 blocks from Oktoberfest. Also, had front rwo seats to parade.

Hotel rooms were small and economical, but we didn't spend much time in the room except to sleep, so that was ok. The room was clean and neat. The breakfast buffet was outstanding! And the service was very good. Good location, close to the train station!

the Tryp was a very good internet choice for me. The hotel as listed in the ad was very close to the central railway station with access to the subway(underground) and longer distance trains so you have access to the entire city for a subway fare. The hotel was modern, clean and well staffed with people fluent in English. The only drawback is there is no free parking anywhere nearby and the hotel charges 16 euros a day to park.

Hotel is well positioned, near to the main trains station (hauptbahnhof) and let you take metro ease. Cost effective with basic conditions like, tv, wireless internet (pay a part) mini-bar, otherwise to whom avoiding old carpet, find another one.

I definitely enjoyed my stay at this hotel and would recommend it to many people. It was clean, had a friendly staff, and was very close (within walking distance) to the train station.

Thought the hotel was good considering the cost and would stay there again. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were a little pricey though.

We stayed at the Tryp for 3 nights while in Munich for a wedding. The hotel was in excellent walking distance of the train station and city centre. The rooms were clean and comfortable though very warm at night (a fan was in the room but didn't make much difference). We opted to have the breakfast which was very enjoyable with the usual continental options but also bacon, egg, pancakes etc. The reception staff were very helpful and polite. Overall this hotel was excellent value for money.

The hotel was nice. We had a good location, easy to hop on the nearest underground train and the staff was helpful. The only negative I found was that there was no air conditioning and that breakfast was not the cheapest thing. I would however stay here again!!

This hotel is about 5 blocks from main train station located in an ethnic (turkish) neighborhood. Absolutely perfect. Laundry three doors down. Everything we needed. Would definately stay again!

The hotel is located an easy walk from both the train station and the central tourist area of Munich. However, I was very disappointed with the fact that there was no internet access that didn't cost (and access from the rooms cost a lot), the bed was not comfortable, and the room was too warm to sleep well. Overall, it was relatively inexpensive and in a great location, but don't rely on comfort while you're there.

We had to use about 22 steps to get to the room and for the money I paid, this is pitiful. When I discussed this with the front desk, they could care less about it.

The hotel was not upto its 4 star rating. The rooms were clean, the breakfast was good and the multi- lingual reception staff were friendly and helpful. But that´s what I would expect from a 3 star hotel. The bedroom furniture was basic but worn. The bath had a crack which could cut someone's foot. When we called reception for an additional pillow, we were informed that the hotel did not have any spare. Most importantly of all there was no air conditioning in the rooms. Our sleep was very uncomfortable as we had to choose between listening to traffic noise all night or having a very stuffy room.

The location was awesome quick walk to the train. Room and bathroom were lacking a bit on maintenance. The parking was horrible. I would not stay here again if driving. Staff was pleasant, nothing exceptional. Breakfast was good but overpriced.
