Leonardo Hotel & Residenz Muenchen - Monachium

Just returned from a trip to Munich for Oktoberfest. We stayed at the Leonardo Hotel and overall it was very enjoyable. Suggestions for the hotel would be to make the smoking area outside the hotel at least 30-50 feet AWAY from the front door. No smoking inside but quite a few smokers within a few feet of the entrance. Also no smoking on the balconies would be a welcome addition as well. We had to close our window at night or smell smoking all night. Overall a nice hotel but we would probably not return if the smoking policy wasn't changed.

We met the manager on our very first night in Europe. We felt so welcome. You can imagine the next day when my husband lost his passport and all I.D. how terrible we felt. But again the manager was most gracious. When the items were returned by a very kind young man, he was able to leave them for us at the Leonardo Hotel and we picked them up the next day. It was so nice to have not just a nice place to stay, but people who were kind, gracious and trustworthy. Thank you!!

The hotel was nicely decorated and clean and we appreciated the proximity to the train station and other landmarks. There was a construction project going on across the street, which of course, is outside of the control of the hotel, and although unsightly, was not unusually noisy. The room that we stayed in was large and we initially found it quite comfortable; that is, until dark, when we noticed that our window was right next to the illuminated hotel sign. The sign was bright enough that I was able to find a small item in my suitcase in the middle of the night without turning on a light. When we mentioned it to the desk clerk, she pleasantly suggested that next time we request a room towards the back of the hotel. The only problem I have with her suggestion is that the issue can SO easily be addressed with appropriate window treatment and I'm surprised that they haven't done something about it. In any case, I would consider staying at this hotel again but will of course request a back room.

I had booked this hotel in a hurry due to very urgent travel plans - and had requested a disabled friendly room as I am using a wheelchair. At the time of booking I had requested a bath if they had no adapted room - they agreed to this. Upon arrival there was no room with bath for me and the hotel was more or less fully booked (needless to say that they did not change my room). So personal hygiene was a huge problem during my stay and a request for more towels did not go down well either. The reception does not offer any kind of service or support (no help for my wife with suitcases). The hotel is obviously only used for large groups from Japan and other parts of the world. I would not recommend this hotel.

Great value for the money and a very convenient location with a market right across the street

We stayed at the Leonardo on 3 seperate occasions on this trip to Europe. The desk staff was always friendly and very helpful. We left for a couple days on a side trip to Amsterdam and they allowed us to store our large suitcase at the hotel(FREE), since we were returning. It was huge help not having to haul all that luggage for just a two day stay. On our return, our room had been smoked in and smelled awful. I went to the desk and she immediatley moved us to a new room. In a very quiet neighborhood, but only 1 block to the U line and a market across the street and one down the street. A couple blocks and there are restaurants and wonderful fresh, cheap bakeries. We got a great price on this very nice hotel. The only complaint is internet service is outrageously expensive!

Loved my stay here - it was the best hotel in all of Europe.

Room pleasant. Sauna / exerc. area have nice large changing colour ceiling disc. I wasn't pleased with booking & staying here, I was very vexed. Munich has big, noisy New Year's Eve celebrations. I anticipated a quieter time, maybe a short look at fireworks. 1st I wanted to enjoy the tiny fitness room (3 good aerobic machines: recumb., cr. trainer, bike), sauna + steam rooms. Nice and relaxing. Then I'd planned Munich beer @ hotel bar, noting good priced Italian menu. I wanted to take things easy, in the restaurant (good reviews) & bar. Travelling on my own on New Year's Eve (Silvester Abend), a hotel bar is an ideal place to relax, away from crowds deciding to choose certain places & probably easier to chat to unknown persons at, if liked. Reception told me: both restaurant & bar were closed to guests (booked for private functions). I couldn't believe it. No bar or restaurant on New Year's Eve of all nights. No discount offerred. I chose a hotel I read would have a bar & restaurant, basic facilities. I think hotels are only supposed to hire out the bar or restaurant if they've more than 1. They're for the guests, that's why they're there, that's all. Especially N.Y. Eve when Munich is very busy. I was very disappointed. You don't think a hotel would do that to guests on such a night. I just wanted a quiet meal & a quiet drinks, in the hotel. No such luck. I wasn't paying for the luck of there being a bar and restaurant though, I was told there would be.

The large room exceeded our expectations with a sofa plus glass Coffee table. Also a glass desk. Carpeted floor. We thought 15 euros for breakfast was high so ate elsewhere. Ample parking on the street avoids the 13 euro charge for hotel parking. No coffee maker. Close to S bahn then a few stops to Hauptbahnhof.

The price per week is too high for the size of the hotel room and the service offered. Many times, the receptionists would just turn their faces away from you, for fear that you would ask them for some help. Although, one receptionist out of many was helpful. Furthermore, I was told that the phone line would be charged 25 cents "per unit" and the receptionist did not know what a unit was in time. When I checked out, I was charged 27 Euros for making 2 phone calls totaling around 8 minutes. On top of that, the internet offered (Swisscom) was one of the worst and most expensive. I was paying 13 Euro every 24 hours for service that would stop before the 24 hours and lagged on speed. I had to do this for 2 weeks. After taking the Swisscom survey, I was never given a courtesy response to my concerns, nor any concessions. Upon calling Swisscom, I was told to go to the front desk to get a router and modem and place a 300 Euro deposit. This modem did not work and I had to give it back. The room was very small and the toilet in the bathroom was right next to the sink, so anyone who used it would be crammed into a little space. Also, house keeping did not replace any sheets or pillow covers. Rather, they just fluffed up the pillows, which were so old that I had to fold it in half so my neck would not cramp up overnight. Also, the restaurant downstairs had a server that was very rude. When my roommate asked for a recommendation for dinner, he exclaimed, "I don't know! What do you want?" If you think that I am exaggerating, stay in this hotel for yourself and see...at your own risk. You will no doubt spend a lot of money here and not receive your expected level of sevice.

This is a very nice hotel with friendly staff, comfortable rooms, great breakfasts and perfect location. It's in a nice quiet area but close to the centre of Munich nevertheless with public transport just 2 minutes away on foot. I would definitely book a stay there again.

The rooms were small which I've found is typical in Europe but then we expected this. The staff was very helpful and friendly.

Very hard to find location, rude employees,minimal and small room finish-out. Not worth the money for the rates. Stay at another hotel.

The hotel is excellent value. Only black spot in the whole visit was the extreme surliness of the girl on the front desk at check-in. Treated me as if I had just killed her dog.

just 100 meters from underground station, kichenette very usefull, breakfast overpriced (15€)

Helt greit hotell

Λιτό, ζεστό και καθαρό ξενοδοχείο κοντά στον "υπόγειο" (subway) σε ήσυχη περιοχή μόλις 10' από το κέντρο του Μονάχου.

Hade inte förväntat mig sådan standard för så lite pengar. Mkt trevlig personal, bra läge och trevligt rum. Mkt prisvärt. Rekomenderas!

Accueil trés froid, pas de parking facile alentour, petit déjeuner trés cher, heure de fin de petit déjeuner imposée.

Hotel assolutamente consigliato. Pulito, comodissimo alla metropolitana, personale molto gentile.

Sehr gepflegtes Hotel an guter und ruhiger Lage, nur wenige Gehminuten von der S-Bahn-Station entfernt. Die Zimmer sind nicht gerade riesig, aber sehr schön und sauber.

Das Hotel war sehr sauber, das Personal super freundlich und es ist sehr nah von der U-Bahn die ungefahr 4 Haltestellen von Marienplatz entfernt ist. Es ist ein bisschen laut besonders am Ende des Tages aber, nicht so schlimm. Wir haben nicht im Hotel gefruhstückt (zu teuer) und ganz nah gibt es eine Bäckerei, ganz gut. In der Nähe sind auch viele Restaurants und Laden. Wir waren ganz zufrienden.

Das Hotel ist sehr nahe am U-Bahnhof gelegen, daher ist man in kurzer Zeit in München.

Ruhiges, einigermaßen zentrales Hotel; Zimmer nicht groß, aber modern eingerichtet; freundlicher Service; etwas wenig Platz beim Frühstücksbuffet; insgesamt würde ich das Hotel auf jeden Fall wieder buchen Tiefgaragenplatz kostet extra, 13 Euro/Tag

Hotel trés accueillant, moderne avec tout le confort necessaire. Proximité du métro.

Sehr schönes Hotel mit zentraler aber ruhiger Lage, nahe U-Bahn Silberhornstrasse. Von Vorteil sind die Kochnieschen die man sich einrichten lassen kann. Helle große Zimmer. Sehr freundliches Personal. Keine Verpflichtung Frühstück buchen zu müssen. Einzig zu beanstanden ist, daß das Reinigungspersonal am frühen Morgen sehr laut ist mit den Staubsaugern etc. und sich gerne im Gang laut unterhält. Könnte man als natürlichen kostenlosen Weckdienst vom Hotel bezeichnen. Es sind nicht alle Leute immer geschäftlich unterwegs wenn sie in diesem Hotel nächtigen.

Non troppo centrale ma tranquillo, la vicinanza della metropolitana rendono comodi e veloci gli spostamenti, il personale molto professionale ed attento all'esigenze degli ospiti. La moquette è da cambiare come la poltrona in camera, sono vecchie e non danno l'impressione di essere pulite. Per il resto tutto OK

Un accueil de bonne qualité par un personnel toujours disponible. Les chambres sont agréables à vivre, comfortables et d'une propreté irréprochable. L'hôtel se situe à 3 stations de métro du centre ville de Munich. Votre séjour à Munich sera rendu facile et plaisant grâce à la qualité des prestations proposées par cet hôtel.

Zimmer im 2. Stock sind moderner möbliert als die im Erdgeschoss. Miniküche im Zimmerschrank! Ruhige Lage, 5 U-Bahnstationen vom Marienplatz entfernt. Hotel ist jederzeit zu empfehlen.

Das Hotel ist sehr ruhig gelegen, U-Bahn ganz in der Nähe, sehr sauber, gut ausgestattet, aufmerksamer Service

Gepflegte, saubere Atmosphäre, ruhige Lage, U-Bahn zu Fuß nur fünf Minuten.

Ein wunderschönes Hotel, das wir empfehlen können, alles vorrätig, was man sich wünschen kann bis auf ein funktionstüchtiges Radio. Phantastischer Saunabereich, Super Service, alle sehr freundlich.

Hotel in guter Lage (unmittelbar neben U-Bahn-Station und damit nur 5 Minuten vom Zentrum entfernt), mit ausgezeichnetem Frühstück und freundlichem Personal. Zu empfehlen!

Zweckmäßiges Hotel für Geschäfstreisende der mittleren Preisklasse. Zimmer hatte kleinen Balkon. 3 Minuten bis zur U-Bahn. Raucherzimmer hat leider sehr stark nach Rauch gestunken(-> Nichtraucherzimmer buchen). Neues und schönes Bad.

belle e spaziose le camere, ottima la posizione in quartiere tranquillo immerso nel verde e a due passi dalla metro. un po' caro, ma io sono andato nel periodo della oktoberfest!

Fuer Touristik und Geschaeft gute Lage. Freundliches Personal und guter Service. Wireless sollte verbessert werden (Provider).
