Flemings Hotel Munich City - Monachium

The staff at the Flemings are fantastic - especially Katherine on the front desk, who arranged a great massage for me at short notice and tickets to BMW for my husband - nothing was too much trouble. They put smoothies and fresh fruit in room as it was our anniversary , which was a nice and very welcomed touch. The breakfast is delicious and abundant ! The only minuses are the room is a bit small and there is no bath, but really for a day or two this is fine and I would certainly recommend this hotel to others and may even go back myself.

This hotel was conveniently located within sight of the Hauptbahnhof,which was a blessing as we arrived in the pouring rain! The staff are extremely helpful and the room, although not spacious, was big enough not to feel claustrophobic. All fixtures and fittings were in very good order. No bathrobes provided, but that's hardly a huge problem.

This hotel was very good especially considering the price, the general location was extremely close to the subway and train station. I would definitely stay here again

The Flemings Hotels all have the glass showers in the middle of the rooms, which is a little strange but also kinda cool. The hotel was exceptionally clean and comfortable, and the staff was very accomodating. The breakfast was very good as well. Overall, I was very pleased with this hotel. The train station in Munich has a lot of "seedy" neighborhoods nearby, but the Flemings is on a major street without the X-rated stores as neighbors that you will find on the next block near the Tryp and Hotel Atrium.

Could not have had a better location and comfort. Staff was very helpful on all issues.

We enjoyed this hotel. It was a well maintained contemporary hotel with an excellent breakfast, free internet, and helpful staff. The room was a bit small, but then we were rarely in it. It is about 10 minute walk to the marienplatz. We would stay there again.

My wife and I stayed in Flemings Hotel Munich City for one night en route to Upper Austria. We were on an evening flight from Dublin so it was important to have a hotel which was easy to find, close to Munich Hauptbahnhof. Our flight was even later than scheduled due to bad weather and we arrived at the hotel just before midnight. On arrival we were told our booking had been upgraded to a suite. The suite was on two levels: the bedroom was on the upper level, reached by a spiral staircase. The sitting room and shower etc facilities were at the lower level. Everything was fresh and clean, and the bed was comfortable. Light switches etc were complicated and I never found out how to turn off some lights on the lower level. The TV switches also were complicated. My only reservation is that the spiral stairs would be unsuitable for old people, and not so old people would need to take care not to hit their head off the underneath part of the steel/wood staircase. Breakfast next morning, in a pleasant ambiance, was excellent: the best hotel breakfast I have had for many years with bacon and eggs fried to order, good fresh coffee, friendly staff....

Excellent room and staff. It was the best hotel we stayed in our entire 2 week Europe trip. Its location is excellent, 2 mins from the central station and 10min from the market plz. Breakfast was awesome, they had excellent cheese, bread, meat and cereal platters, very upscale. I highly recommend this hotel.

Very nice hotel less than 15 years old. Smaller rooms were nice and had all the comforts of any other hotel. Beautiful small bathroom with private toilet but glass encased shower could spice up an evening for couples. I also stayed in a suite on the 6th floor and it had a very neat loft effect complete spiral staircase up to the bedroom. The bright orange furniture was a bit much but the suite is definitely worth the upgrade. The only bad side about this accommodation was the lack of "air conditioning". There was an air unit but it just seemed to cycle the air to keep the room somewhat cool. Bi-lingual staff and full breakfast at the restaurant in the morning was a delightful surprise. Conveniently located next to the Central Train Station and the subway makes getting around town more than easy enough. Hotel was offering free internet connection and fresh apples were available every morning in my room.

This hotel was very convenient for rail travellers and within easy walking distance of the old town and the major sites. The staff were really welcoming and helpful; as good as we've met anywhere. The glass shower in the room was fun and worked very well but we were disappointed to find that the wash basin and the soap dish were chipped - not what you expect in a 4 star hotel. Breakfast was good and the waiting staff were attentive. It was good to have freshly cooked eggs. It was disappointing that there was no internet connection available for guests without their own laptops. We very much appreciated the offer of luggage storage after checkout and the offer of the use of a shower when we returned to collect the luggage. All in all we found it a very satisfactory hotel for a short stay in Munich, which we also enjoyed.

I loved this hotel. The room was clean, modern, quiet (I was on the courtyard) and the breakfast was great. The location was convenient, half block from main train station; I never felt uncomfortable walking to the hotel at night as it is on a traveled street. The windows open 2 ways so I was plenty cool in mid-May. The open shower was fine, as I am a single female traveler.

Room was very small, but clean. Bed was hard, but no worse than most hotels. The included breakfast was wonderful.

Awesome hotel, great breakfast, good location. Conveniently located 2 minutes walk from the main train station of Munich. Easy access to underground and s-bahn for other areas of town. The desk staff spoke great English but didn't find them particularly helpful in directing me to night life. If you are looking for a little local bar to hang out with friendly locals (I was traveling alone) there is a great sports bar (boxing memorabilia) which is fun a few minutes away. I don't think they wanted to send me down this street as a woman traveling alone, but compare to my experiences in cities like NYC and LA, trust me, this is not a dangerous area! Wish I'd found it the first night! This is more of a business hotel which is why it was probably cheap on the weekend. I didn't take my laptop on this leisure trip and it was a bit inconvenient that they didn't have a computer onsite that I could use to access the internet and email. But for 2 nights it worked out fine. I would definitely stay again. The beds and linens were very comfy and the shower was great! The high ceilings and windows that opened with lots of natural light were a bonus.

I always worry about hotels that are close to the main train station. However, Flemings is a top-notch hotel in a solid neighborhood. The rooms are sleek, clean, and very comfortable. I also like the option of opening up our windows for some fresh air. The front desk staff were all extremely gracious and helpful and the staff in the adjoining restaurant were VERY friendly and were the epitome of hospitality. Also, when you are in a foreign country for vacation, it's important to start your day off with a no-hassle breakfast with lots of variety. This restaurant provided a buffet-style breakfast, along with dishes made to order, that could pass for Easter brunch in many places. Last, but not least, the bathrooms are spacious and modern - with a large shower that is worth the stay in itself! This might seem silly, but I put a lot of importance in how you start your day when traveling; and I do NOT like it when you start off with a shower in a cramped and nasty bathroom. I seriously need to find a Flemings shower for my own home.

I stayed at Flemings one night on a connection stopover. The reception was friendly and swift. The bedroom was stylish and comfortable. The breakfast service was incredibly friendly, while the food was delicious. I spend about 120 days a year in hotels, so it takes a lot to impress me. For the price, however, Flemings was fantastic.

We could find no fault with this hotel. Location superb, two minute walk from station. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very comfortable and breakfast great.

If you like a good shower, this is the place for you.

I was surprised at the low rate for this hotel in Munich. I was going for a weekend, and decided to treat myself to a nice hotel. I like my hotels new, and this hotel did not disappoint. Everything was squeaky clean, modern, and new. The bed was very comfortable, the staff was friendly, and the location was very good. It's not in the city center, but it's right next to the train station, which can take you to the airport. Internet was free, which is always a huge plus for me. I find some of the rates at other hotels ridiculous, especially considering the high price you're already paying. To top it off, the breakfast was included, and was excellent. This wasn't just a continental style breakfast; you could order many things from the kitchen, including some fantastic eggs I had. The only thing to keep in mind: the shower. I went in knowing what to expect. It's fully visible from almost anywhere in the room, and it's 100% transparent. I went by myself, but I find this completely incompatible with a family, so keep that in mind. Maybe they offer "family-friendly" rooms. Overall, an excellent choice.

I was intrigued by other reviewers' comments about the shower in the middle of the room, and decided for that reason to check out this hotel. I thought the shower was cool -- but I was traveling alone :). The location was terrific -- it was visible from the main train station exit. The staff was exceptionally friendly and the free Y-FI (I was there on business) made my decision. The only downside is that it borders two very busy streets and with the windows open, the street noise is too loud to sleep. I would stay at this hotel again because the convenience, and other characteristics mentioned were made it well worth it.

Very convenient location across the street from the main railway station. Great breakfast. Very helpful staff.

One of the best hotels for the value. I would recommend this hotel to any couple that doesn't mind seeing the other person shower. Not recommend for people traveling with their parents or children. The showers are see through!!! LOVED IT!

Very clean and comfortable. The see-through shower screen between the bed and the water certainly added an extra dimension to our stay.

Excellent if touring Germany by train - straight opposite train station. Rooms are clean, comfortable and modern. Free internet is excellent. Great breakfast. I would recommend this hotel.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights whilst visiting the Christmas Markets. The hotel is just across the road from the main station and a 10 minute walk at most to the main centre and Marienplatz so ideal for those on a short stay for the Christmas markets. Hotel is beautifully decorated with friendly staff who all spoke great English. breakfast was very good quality, and of course there is the shower! Would reccomend Flemmings and Munich to anyone we had a brilliant short break.

Close to the train station. The staff spoke English and were very helpful. The glass showers are a hoot!

Pretty much what I expected from a 4.5 star hotel. Very nice and clean and in a great location. Price was reasonable for a nicer hotel like this.

We loved this hotel! It is directly across the street from the train station and very easy to find. Quick 10 minute walk down the main shopping drag to the Marinplatz (city center). We got lucky and were able to check in early after an overnight train. The hotel has very modern touches, is clean, and very chic. I would suggest rooming with someone you know as the shower is see-through and is in the middle of the room. Kind of strange, but it fogs up.

The hotel was bright and clean; the rooms were decorated in a very modern style. The shower, which has glass doors open to the sleeping area, makes the room unsuitable for platonic roomates. The room was relatively small (average by European standards) but well equipped. It is located across from the main train station and walking distance to the pedestrian zone and the Augustiner beer garten. Convienient to all modes of public transportation - the location is a major selling point.

This hotel is a block away from the train station and a five minute walk from Marienplatz. It was really clean and modern the only thing is that the shower consists of two glass walls facing the room... so unless you are staying with someone you know really well it can be awkward!

What a great hotel! Location, service and cleanliness were excellent. Newly remodeled and sleek. Exceeded our expectations for the price we paid. Yummy breakfast included in the price of our room. Would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Munich.

We loved the Flemings Hotel. Lovely room - although be prepared for the glass shower(exposed to room!) We were able to get an excellent rate with Hotels.com and would do it again when in Munich.

My husband & I had no problems with the Hotel Fleming. We really needed the A/C. It reached almost 90 degrees one day while we were in Munich. The location was perfect. I had worried because it was close to train station, but that was an asset. We walked less than a block to catch the tram and just across the street to catch the u-bhan or the s-bahn. We could be anywhere in the city in 15 minutes. Also, their breakfast,which was included with our room, was excellant with many choices of food.

The Flemings is definitely 4 stars from the standpoint of the quality of the room accommodations. Very quiet, nice shower and bath area compared with other European accommodations. Small by North American standards, but very efficient use of space makes the room seem much more spacious. I would recommend this hotel to any business traveler or couple heading to Munich.

Overall the best Hotel we stayed in while in Europe. Built in 2001 everything was clean and neat. The staff were very helpful. The food being served downstairs was 5 star. I would say this is a great place to stay for any single traveller or couple but not for a family, since the showers have glass walls. I could go on and on of what we liked here. Its just easier to say that it is a great place to stay.

We were pleased in every regard with the Flemings.

We stayed at both Munich Fleming's hotels (Munich City and Schwabing), and had a fantastic hotel experience at both locations. The staff is multilingual and accommodating, the hotel breakfast is delicious and the rooms are cozy yet modern. The showers at the Fleming's hotels require disclaimers: The Schwabing room we stayed in had a glass shower in a private bathroom; however, the glass shower was in plain view of the bed in Munich City. This did not bother me and my boyfriend, but I can see how this would be off putting for two friends traveling together and splitting the cost of a room. I really loved this place. We stayed there 4 out of our 6 nights in Munich.
